After presenting over fifteen hundred signatures to the Virginia State Board of Elections, Tidewater area resident and local physician Dr. D.C. Amarasinghe was confirmed July 18th to appear on November's ballot as a Green Party candidate to the U.S. House of Representatives. Dr. Amarasinghe (known to his friends simply as "D.C.") hopes to reach out to citizens from all constituencies toward the common goals of corporate responsibility, environmental protection, social justice, and affordable health care.
