The following proposal was presented at the February 13, 2005 GPVA quarterly business meeting as the basis for a working committee, with language to be added to the bylaws at a later date. The committee was approved by consensus.
Definition
The GPVA shall have a Local Organizing Committee, accountable to the GPVA and responsible for growing the membership of the GPVA.
Composition
- Each member of the Local Organizing Committee must be a member of the GPVA.
- The Local Organizing Committee shall consist of regional organizers from all parts of the state.
- Members shall be volunteers who are approved at a GPVA meeting or by the Interim Committee.
- Members of the Local Organizing Committee shall select a Chair.
Responsibilities
- The Local Organizing Committee shall assist Locals that request help in building their membership.
- The Local Organizing Committee shall organize Greens who wish to form new Locals where none exist.
- The Local Organizing Committee shall review each new Local's application for affiliation and shall make recommendations to the GPVA.
- Local Organizing Committee members shall adhere to the privacy policy of the GPVA with regard to member data.
- The Local Organizing Committee shall report its activities at each quarterly business meeting.
