The Green Party of Virginia

Agenda of the Third Quarterly Business Meeting of 2001

The Green Party of Virginia invites you to a Retreat at Pocahontas State Park on August 24-26. Pocahontas State Park is located 20 miles south of Richmond in Chesterfield County.

The Green Party Retreat will be held at the Group Cabins #3 area of the Park. We have reserved bunk space for Friday and Saturday night. The Quarterly business meeting will be held Sunday August 26 from 11am to 4pm at the Dining Hall in the Group Cabins #3 area.

People can arrive anytime after 2pm on Friday and informally network, meet with other Greens and enjoy the amenities of the Park. The Park offers boating, swimming, nature trails, bike paths, and a museum of the Civilian Conservation Corps, all available for a small fee.

On both Friday and Saturday night we'll have a bonfire, so bring your non-electric musical instruments, singing voice, enviro and organizing songs, and marshmallows.

Saturday will be devoted to workshops and group discussions including:

  • Formal concensus decisionmaking process
  • The Ten Key Values of the Greens
  • The Future of the Green Party of Virginia- and how do we get there from here?
Please bring your wisdom and vision, your hopes and dreams for creating the future of the Green Party. The GPVA has undergone tremendous growth since the Nader campaign and we hope you all will come and take an active part in helping grow the Green Party as a transforming influence in Virginia politics.

Sunday the Green Party will hold it's Quarterly Business meeting. All members of the GPVA are entitled to vote. Please come and participate.

If you'd like to join us for any or all of the weekend, please RSVP to coclerks@vagreenparty.org. Bunks are available for $10 per night. The accomodations are rustic so bring your own bedding, toiletries and tableware.
